Anchor of  7 NEWS First at 4, 7 NEWS at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 & Deco Drive

Emmy Award winning journalist Lynn Martinez co-anchors 7 NEWS at 4:00, 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30PM. A versatile presenter, Lynn also co-hosts the popular entertainment show Deco Drive, weeknights at 7:30PM and 11:30PM.

Lynn joined WSVN in 1991 as a co-anchor / reporter for TODAY IN FLORIDA, WSVN’s # 1 rated morning news program. She quickly rose through the ranks, and was promoted to weekend anchor before moving into her current assignment on the weeknight news. In 1998, she began co-hosting Deco Drive, the half-hour news magazine show known for celebrity news and the latest on the South Florida entertainment circuit.

She began her broadcasting career in 1989 at the CBS affiliate in Cadillac, Michigan, where she served as an anchor and producer.

During her 33 years at WSVN, Lynn has traveled around the world to cover major stories, from war torn Bosnia, devastation in Haiti, and even Rome, where she met Pope John Paul II. Lynn has anchored major breaking news events including the September 11th terrorist attacks, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, several presidential inaugurations, and even landed a coveted one-on-one interview with President Barack Obama at the White House.

As co-host of Deco Drive, Lynn has interview numerous celebrities, among them Elton John, Taron Egerton, Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Kristen Stewart, Keanu Reeves, Miles Teller and one of her favorites, The Rock.  Lynn has even enjoyed risking her life for Deco Drive, by skydiving with the Golden Knights and flying at Mach Speed with the Blue Angels.

In 2023, Lynn was the recipient of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences Silver Circle Award, for her numerous contributions within the South Florida television industry for 25 plus years.  Lynn launched a weekly Advice for Life podcast where she interviews relationship experts with a focus on self and relationship improvement.

Lynn has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in journalism from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is married to a firefighter and has two children and three stepchildren.  Staying fit and having fun are the mottos she lives by!
